In the United Arab Emirates, the city and emirate of Dubai is well-known for its upscale shopping, cutting-edge buildings, and vibrant nightlife. The 830m-tall Burj Khalifa tower dominates the skyline of skyscrapers. Dubai Fountain, with its musically synchronized jets and lights, is located at its base. Atlantis, The Palm is a resort with aquatic and marine animal parks located on artificial islands near offshore.

Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for its luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture, and vibrant nightlife.  At its base is the Dubai Fountain, with jets and lights choreographed to music. Located on man-made islands just offshore is Atlantis, The Palm, a water park and marine animal park.

Sheikh Mohammed ibn Rashid Al Maktoum, also spelled Muhammad (born 15 July 1949, Dubai, United Arab Emirates), Vice President (2006-) and Prime Minister (2006-) of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of the Emirate constituent of Dubai (2006-). The official language of Dubai is Arabic, although much more English is spoken. With the exception of a few local Emirates, which make up a small percentage of the total population, almost everyone living or traveling to Dubai speaks at least reasonable English.
